Once they accept I-485 in the system then they give us a Receipt#, with that Receipt we can file for EAD / AP (as long as your PD becomes available) then they will process your I-485, Just thinking.. what do you say guys ... Please lete me know.. Receipt Date Vs Visa Number ...

I am in too...How can we organize all the members...70,000 is a lot of people, Any thing done effectively and efficiently will make an impact.
That's the main issue we are facing. People come on discussion forums and talk big, but when it comes to actual execution - it is very few people who actually do things and there is no regulation.

I don't want to argue either.
In my case, I saved $400 per month as I got mine on 4.5% interest rate. If I got mine on 6% interest rate, I would have paid $144,000 more in the entire duration of my loan. I can't say enough on the value of my house because it is the lowest compared to all my neighbors with same model. The location has the best school district in the city and the elementary school is 3 blocks away.
Refinancing is a tricky part of this game. Refinancing is not always good because most of the time, you will start at month 1 again where the interest part is higher than the principal. It also has closing cost. One should only refinance if the difference is greater than 1%. 1% is only break even.

The funny thing is,that as with EAD card,in a day after I subscribed for e-mail update with USCIS they send me e-mail that my AP and family members have been mailed.

Here is how I came up with that analysis. Last year they made changes to give GC for those stuck in FBI name check if they passed 180 days. So most of the ROW got their GC last year. There were not many labors approved from 2008. So there is no demand from EB2 ROW this year. With the economy going down, not many would get EB1s either. I don't anticipate many EB5s either this year. So major chunk of EB visas will need to come to EB2I/C. Will CIS do that or not is a different story.

I think I am in a similar situation with you.Me and my kids are also separated from my wife for almost a year now. It was really a big mistake on my part not to join her on her Embassy interview thinking visas were plentiful.BIG MISTAKE. I was at that time not well informed about visa availability.Our PD is Nov 05 and I am from the Philippines. I do feel what you feel. It is an emotional roller coaster ride. Are you derivative beneficiaries of your wife's Sched A petition and what country are you from? If you dont mind me asking.

Dont assume that people who gone back to India and working a manager are living happily without any issues.
One of my friends whome I used to work in 2005 was promoted to manager in 2007. Now he is in a dilemma whether to continue to go up the ladder or come back doing technical stuff. Salary wise he is not getting that much and he doesnt know how the company will do infuture. It all depends on US economy. If you are looking for 18L above salary, then it is very very tough to get a job in india.

I guess the reason for moving back eb2 I dates is strategic. Since they have the whole year to use the 140 K visas, they might be trying to start the year conservatively, trying to honor FIFO.
The aggressive movement of dates in last quarter was ONLY to prevent the visa number wastage.
I think the reason for the retrogression in EB2-I is obvious.
There are only 800 visas available for EB2-I for any given quarter (remember the 7% country quota). The spill overs from EB2-ROW and EB1 start only after few months.
EB2-I will move after the DOS looks at the unused visa numbers from EB2-ROW and EB1, hope fully next quarter.
There are no spill overs into EB3-I, so it won't move any time soon.
Note: I am not commenting on USCIS approving cases with later dates before older priority dates.

Few observations based on thread postings
1) Last year around this same time not many RFE/LUD were seen.
2) Most of these cases with RFE/LUD are either EB2 around 2005-2006 or EB3 2003-2004
3) My Lawyer based out of IL confirming RFEs are in high volume and majority of these are Employment verification with Birth verification and Health letter verification as close second.
Now given the gov attitude and the current scenario it does not seem that they would be interested in pre-adjudication. There is something else that is going on. On the same note I am also seeing that people with dates which could possibly be current anytime this year are not seeing any LUD/RFE. If pre-adjudicating is the objective than these cases should have received the RFEs first.
Just my observation. Any input is appreciated.
Possibility 1: Could be renewal of fingerprints as most of these 485 were filed befoe 16-17 months and FP life is 15 months. A memo was issued that they will reuse this FPs and won't ask another FPs if 485 takes longer than 15 months.

2 - It could be a preparation for adjudicating thosdands of applications as some one in this tread mentioned that spill over wouldn't be as it was last year.

Sens. Schumer and Hutchison have offered the Bridge amendment. The amendment has been withdrawn but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is permanently withdrawn. According to www.shusterman.com It has a chanse to pass in September, just after the summer recess.
I believe all our efforts should be concentraited on this legislation!
Core Team, we badly need your advise, how can we help, what should we do in order to lobby this ammendment? It might be difficult because the majority of Schedule A professionals are still outside the US..... There in US we have only our lawers, who seems to me are not willing or can help us.
