Isn't that what senate is proposing forthe illegal that those who are inthe country for more than 5 yrs get special treatment compared to those who came 2yrs ago, so why that can't be applicable for Legal Immigrants?:rolleyes:

I am trying to change my job and have an approved I-140 with a priority date of August 2006. The question is if I am successful in porting my old August PD for my new I-140 applied after May 2007, would I come under this new merit system? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Congressman's liason may be able to help, but to be on the safe side, fork out $350 and dispute the denial in federal district court. It is different from mandamus, it's an agency action which is not in accordance with the law. Court filing may help you to preserve status/EAD/AP.

I know 3 friends of mine who got an email for USCIS rearding the GC approval. They all had priority dates around April-June 2004 EB3 India. These are the lucky ones who got labor cleared in 2-3 months (just prior to BEC/PERM) and had filed 485/140 concurrently.

I happen to be a freelance writer (not a journalist). In response to this thread, I have penned a 2,700 word commentary on the current challenges titled "The Plight of Promise". 1) It's annoying to see grown up ppl fight like children.
2) This forum needs to keep it's focus. Members are supposed to help each other and our cause. We are IV and IV is us.
3) we do not need internecine fights, that digress's from our mission.
4) This thread is contributing to wastage og volunteer resources, computer resources, temperments and increasing member frustations and BLOOD PRESSURE.

I have a question about a unique situation of getting stuck in BEC and applying 485 with a newer PERM case. If LC is stuck in BEC at this time, but the person has a new PERM+140 from a different location and applies 485. Can this person change the priority date of 485 when the old LC from BEC gets approved, and 140 approved, to the BEC PD?

I just sent a check of $100 via online bill payment to IV. I've also set up recurring contribution checks of $25 every month beginning June. The way dates are moved doesn't seem to have any fact based intelligent logic.

However, there isnt much to infer - as you say there doesnt seem to be any logic in the movement of dates. The lack of transparency is quite frustrating.:mad:
