I am on H1 and AOS and I refinanced my house at 5% . There were no issues and no questions. Just all the usual documents - W2 , paystubs etc etc . It was with a local bank too and not with any high profile institution.
You mean Fancy, big building institution, I think. There are no high-profile banks left anymore. They lost their integrity in screwing people and are not to be trusted.

Well, so far so good for me. As per Zillow estimate, my home value is now 10k more than my purchase price. It depends on where you're buying.
I guess that when the economy starts climbing up and people starts buying houses, interest rate will also climb up to 6%. At 6%, I need to pay $400 more per month.
If you check interest rate trends for the last 50 years, You will notice that during every economic downturn which is every 5-7 years the interest rates do come down. Although this time the down is a bit more due to severe recession, If you notice even in the last downturn around 2002 was in the 5% range. So only buying a house on the basis of low interest rate may not be prudent.

If lets say one year from now your house loses value by 6%, The money you would save by taking a 6% loan on a lower principal will be higher than the lower interest rate on a 6% higher principal you pay now. its generally the case, where these loan officers doesn't understand the Immigration process.
I also had to go thru it. I would suggest to give them a copy of I-140 approval. that is an approved doc, than a pending I-485.
Good part is, the Underwriters generally know about the immigration process and would take 1-140 approval doc as a valid doc.
Dont worry, your loan will be approved.

It means USCIS has pre-adjudicated your I-485 if it was filed before october 2008.
i thought it meant that you had to wait 4 months after your priority date is current to have any expectation of adjudication... no?

Me and my wife's 485s had LUDS on 2/18, 2/19 and 2/20. But no status change, and we know for sure we should be getting atleast one RFE. When we applied in July 07 we could not include my Wife's medical/vaccination reports with the application, but no RFE for that yet.
Usually an RFE or FP notice should arrive within 4-8 days after generation. There is no guarantee that the LUD change means anything until you see the notice in your hand.

My Eb2 Perm Labor Approved. It took 2 months to get approved. It was filed on 07/09/2010 and approved on (email received by HR dept) 09/10/2010. This is just to share with all of you.

Forget about LIFO or FIFO, this year EB2 won't be getting enough visa's from spill-over. They would be giving majority of spill-over to EB3-ROW/I/C and EB2 would be getting very small fraction. And how's that is possible for that they would play around the law ( by making EB2 current).

They can do "wild" approvals, however, they have to do it as per September visa bulletin. IF they dont have enough approvable 485s that are as per the Sept visa bulletin and if the approvable "ready to go" cases are past the priority dates of September, then they will be sitting unapproved as they CANT do any kind of "wild" approval.
Keeping all dates current in Sept (like july, but intentionally this time around) could have made is easier on USCIS to have more choice and easily find "ready to go" cases to assign and consume all visa numbers.
Then we can see a lot of EB2/EB3 approvals then from ROW and Philippines.
